Wales was the
featured nation at the 2009 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Washington D.C. It is a festival which takes place annually
on the National Mall in Washington for 10 days at the end of June and the beginning of July.
This years festival
celebrated the cultural traditions of communities across Wales and an exciting programme featured more than 100
Welsh participants. Over a million people visited the festival over the two weeks!
Ewenny Pottery feel
privilaged to have been one of the participants. I was Personally thrilled when a photograph taken by Christopher Levy of
my hands at the wheel was judged the winner of best photograph of the festival!
Prince Charles recently
opened his first Royal Residence in Wales at Llwynywermod, near Myddai, Carmarthenshire. Pottery from Ewenny Pottery
